Ohmigod!
Reading The Economist's feature on the rise and fall of the shopping mall (article), I realised that I was shopping this summer in Glendale Galleria. This mall inspired Frank Zappa's then-teenage daughter, Moon Unit, to the song Valley Girl.
It's where I saw the iPhone for real for the first time. Total space cadet!

What a coincedence. I heard "Valley Girls" on public radio here in New Zealand this afternoon. Was on a radio show we have after Christmas and through January every year - when NZ is on holiday. The show specialises in really bad songs. Last year it finished every day with a diffrent version of "Stairway to Heaven". This year they're doing the same with "Ghost Riders in the Sky" - we got it played by a concert musican today on Cello!
