Of course, wreckful hailstorms are also a part of the Zeitgeist and of them met our geraniums a week ago. And meanwhile a fungus seize the opportunity and settled in with them. Though we are certain to overcoming this adversity as well.

Urban Green
In the age of sustainable living, the path to happiness goes through home-grown outdoor plants. This especially applies for townsfolk as we are. Thus we also avoided to be offside, followed the Zeitgeist and invested all our energy (and a lot of our money) into the plants on the balcony of our residence.
Of course, wreckful hailstorms are also a part of the Zeitgeist and of them met our geraniums a week ago. And meanwhile a fungus seize the opportunity and settled in with them. Though we are certain to overcoming this adversity as well.

Saturday Flower - Midwinter Edition

This is a Helleborus niger, commonly also called Christmas rose. It's actually blossoming on our balcony. Strangely it's blossoming in winter and enjoys temperatures around the freezing point. I have no idea how propagation works for them at this temperature.
We bought three of them last year, when I took the picture I use on my blog banner. As this picture shows, they made it through summer. Though, we had to put it in the shade.

5 on the fifth - Looking Up
This month's 5 on the fifth theme is Looking Up. I did not walk far, since there are already plenty of flowers on our balcony looking up to the spring sun.

Saturday Flowers
I already took a picture of a wet flower in the morning while getting some croissants for breakfast, but then suddenly, after 8 long days of rain, the sun came out :)
